An accessible, inclusive space for Shropshire entrepreneurs to connect, collaborate and belong.
Shropshire Business Open Space is a calm, welcoming space for Shropshire’s business community to connect, share and belong — with accessibility at its heart and a particular welcome for disabled, chronically ill and neurodivergent people. Sponsored by M & J Marketing.
Following a successful pilot with the Marches Growth Hub, these sessions continue as a relaxed, accessible space where people can share support, swap ideas, and grow together .
This community fills a real gap in the local business landscape — many traditional networking events are “inaccessible, high‑pressure, or simply not designed with our needs in mind” .
Now Hosted by Helen Pugh, Founder of Ablepreneurs® and Kelly Ward – Ablepreneurs own Business Strategist, both navigating business with chronic health conditions and disabilities, these monthly sessions offer something different: a welcoming environment where you can connect without overwhelm, pressure, or expectations. “There are no pitches and no pressure, just genuine connection, open discussion, and practical support. Come as you are. Bring your business, your business goals, your questions or just yourself.”
What to expect
- Open, honest conversations about making entrepreneurship more inclusive
- Creative ways to share skills, ideas, and support
- A relaxed space to meet others who “get it”
- Tea, coffee, and a biscuit or two
- Accessibility considered at every step
Why it matters
Disabled and chronically ill entrepreneurs are a resilient, talented, and growing part of Shropshire’s economy, yet often underserved. This event creates a space where people can show up exactly as they are — no masking, no pushing through, no pretending.
Just connection.
Just community.
Just support.
If you’re looking for a networking space that feels safe, gentle, and genuinely inclusive, this is for you.
